navOcéan, a shipping company created in 2012, has been operating since September 27, 2013 a special vessel, within the meaning of maritime regulations, the ALMAK, a 574 UMS vessel registered in the RIF. navOcéan has its head office in the premises of its majority founding partner (70%), Défense Conseil International (DCI Group), from which its Chairman acts (Chairman of navOcéan and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DCI Group, according to the status of navOcéan), and has a main establishment in Concarneau on the premises of its minority founding partner (30%) Piriou. navOcéan is a wholly owned subsidiary of the DCI Group, which is the reference operator of the French Ministry of the Armed Forces for the transfer of know-how from the French armed forces internationally. DCI Group also provides support to the French armies through the provision and maintenance of equipment (helicopters, drones). Created in 1972 at the initiative of the French State, which is its majority shareholder, DCI Group maintains a strong sovereign culture and public service. All the know-how relating to the naval field is maintained and implemented within a specialized branch, DCI-NAVFCO, closely linked to the French Navy. The group achieved a turnover of 222 million Euros in 2019.
